LAURA GREENHALGH
Laura is a freelance performer, choreographer and lecturer based in London. Laura graduated from Laban with a BA Hons in Dance, a Grad. Dip from Transitions Dance Company and MA in Performance. She received the Sylvia Bodmer Award for Choreological Studies in 2002 and then later featured in Valerie Preston Dunlop's 'Loss of Small Detail' (Forsythe) Project in 2007 and Space Harmony dance film 2008. She joined the Laban Consultation Group in 2009. She has trained, taught and performed across the U.K and in France, Japan, Ecuador, Argentina, and the U.S.A and worked with choreographers such as work Athina Vahla, Fillip Van Huffel, Henri Oguike, Ben Wright and Protein Dance. She has also collaborated, choreographed and performed in work for dance film, animation, concerts, design shows and charity events and in numerous site specific projects most recently for Willi Dorner’s Urban Bodies 2009 and Dog Kennel Hill Project 2010. She joined the teaching team at The Circus Space in 2006, discovering a passion for Contemporary Circus and began training in Circus Arts. Laura continues to develop work in education and community with Laban and The University of Suffolk. She teaches and rehearsal directs for the Centre of Advanced Training at DanceEast and teaches Graham based technique for the degree programmes at Laban and Roehampton University. Her B.A and M.A research related to Voice, Text and Immediacy in Performance and these continue to inform her personal interests and explorations of poetry, improvisation other playful structures.
